Editorial and Source Standards

Named sources, retrieval dates, banned marketing language, and a correction path — the rules every page on this site is held to.

Independent service-request website. Calls and forms may be shared with a third-party provider. The provider confirms availability, pricing, and service terms.

The standard

Every consequential claim on this site — a cost figure, a legal requirement, a technical statement about what slabjacking can and cannot do — must satisfy three tests:

  1. Named source. The claim traces to a primary document or a named publisher: a statute, a federal standard, a city's own page, or an attributed industry publication. "Experts say" does not qualify.
  2. Retrieval date. The source ledger records when each source was last checked. Site-wide, that date is currently July 24, 2026, and it appears on the pages that rely on it.
  3. Scope honesty. The claim states what the source says — not more. ADA thresholds are described as applying where the ADA Standards govern the route, not as a universal repair rule. National cost figures are described as national figures, never converted into an invented "Rockford average."

The complete ledger of sources lives on the resources page.

Language this site bans

Because this site is a request publisher and not the contractor, entire categories of marketing language are prohibited and enforced by automated checks before every release:

  • Availability and speed claims: "24/7," "same-day," response-time promises.
  • Pricing bait: "free estimates," invented local averages, any price this site cannot attribute.
  • False first-person: "our crew," "we lift," "our equipment" — this site has none of those.
  • Unverifiable trust language: "licensed and insured" (Illinois does not license general contractors at the state level), "top-rated," "permanent" results, invented reviews or ratings.
  • Method salesmanship: declaring mudjacking or foam the universal winner. The method comparison belongs to the provider evaluating the actual slab.

Structured data policy

This site publishes WebSite, Organization, FAQPage, Service, and BreadcrumbList structured data describing what it is — a publisher. It does not publish LocalBusiness or contractor schema, because it is not a local contractor and will not present itself as one to search engines.

Corrections

Errors get fixed, visibly. Report anything wrong via the contact page; corrections update the page and the ledger's checked date. When a source changes — a permit fee, a statute, a published price — the claim changes with it or comes down.
